Jennifer DeLugach, Postpartum Doula
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Having a new baby is a special sensitive time of transition. With in-home support you can have more rest and less stress while you recover physically from the birth and adjust to the many changes your new baby brings. As a postpartum doula I support you in the parenting and feeding approaches that resonate with you because you are the parent responsible for your baby 24/7. I provide practical help, emotional support, and education. I am an extra set of hands assisting with tasks such as emptying the dishwasher and preparing simple meals. As a certified lactation educator counselor I am trained to help you meet your breastfeeding goals. I am with you during feedings offering reassurance, support, and evidence-based information. While I am not a therapist, my presence can be therapeutic as I listen actively with an open heart. I am a RN licensed since 1999 with experience as a postpartum and well baby nurse, childbirth educator, birth doula, and midwife's assistant. I am also the mother of 3 almost grown children. My bachelor of science degree is in Biological Sciences from UC Davis and my prelicensure nursing education was completed at UCSF. In 2011 I became a certified lactation educator counselor (CLEC) through UC San Diego. I am currently working towards a postpartum doula certification from DONA International and I thoroughly enjoy serving families in this role.
